Boryeong City in South Korea on the coast of the Yellow Sea was once renowned for its amazing agriculture. Today, however, this same rich earth is drawing millions of visitors to Daecheon Beach in Boryeong City for very different reasons. In 1997, several institutes in South Korea did studies on the soil and determined that not only was the dirt good for plants, it was good for skin too. To market these newly discovered properties, Boryeong decided to engage in a huge festival and invite people far and wide to enjoy their mineral rich mud. Although it is known for its tasty potatoes, Idaho is also home to one of the most unique hotels you can find. The Dog Bark Park Inn is a one-of-a-kind bed and breakfast that has been created in the shape of a beagle and is one of the most well known landmarks in the state. This distinctive two-bedroom bed & breakfast and features decorative carvings created by resident chain saw artists Dennis and Frances, the husband and wife team who created and own this creative retreat. Guests enter the beagle through a private second story deck and are greeted by all kinds of chainsaw art dog decorations throughout. Buda Castle :: Budapest, Hungary

First completed in 1265, Buda Castle (also called Royal Palace & Royal Castle) in Budapest is the historical castle complex of the Hungarian kings. Buda Castle is located on the southern edge of Castle Hill near the old Castle District famous for its medieval, Baroque and 19th century homes and buildings. The castle is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site list that inscribed “Budapest, including the Banks of the Danube, the Buda Castle Quarter and Andrássy Avenue” and is visited by thousands of tourists every year. The oldest section of the present day palace, Stephen’s Tower, was completed in the 14th century by Prince Stephen, younger brother of King Louis I of Hungary. During the long reign of King Sigismund of Hungary the castle was expanded into one of the largest Gothic palaces of the late Middle Ages. The final massive expansion of the castle occurred under King Matthias Corbinus in the late 1400s and stood until the medieval palace was destroyed during the siege of 1686. A new Baroque styled palace was built between 1714 and 1723 by King Charles III of Habsburg. This castle was also mostly destroyed by the great fire of 1810 as well as during an attack. Read more

When most people think of urban parks their minds drift to the sanctuary of Central Park in New York. What most people don’t know is that Balboa Park in San Diego, California is the largest urban park in the United States. Also one of the oldest public recreation sites in the US, Balboa Park’s 1400 acres were set aside in 1868 as citizens declared they wanted a piece of this beautiful land preserved for future generations. Not particularly urban at the time (there were just over 900 homes in the city) the park was quite uncultivated and was overflowing with gorgeous natural flora, fauna, canyons, and hilltops. Throughout the years, conservators and entrepreneurs have poured lots of elbow grease and plenty of hard earned money into transforming Balboa Park into a park that is one of the top visitor destinations in San Diego.
